Have you been thinking of how to go for Cbt exams?
Are you worried that you can't be able to make it??
Do you think UTME CBT exams is meant for those who are literate in the computer world???
Are you looking for the solution to all this, then here is what we have for you @GreatMind Computer Communication.

Hi, I’m Francis Charles J.U., The C.E.O of GreatMind Computer Communication Abia, an Online Advertiser, And Educational Consultant. Here we will be looking into the Tips that we give aid during the forthcoming UTME Test and why the use of Computer Based Test.
Years ago, information came in that Nigeria Examination Board (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) is introducing a new method of taking Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) which will be centered on Computer Base and finally was launched in 2014, and it was confirmed to be steady, that’s the use of Paper and Pencil Test (PPT) is terminated, CBT all through.
Here we shall be considering the things we needed to know whenever we are set to take this exam/test in other to avoid examination malpractice, promote efficiency and maintain orderliness while in the exam hall.

WHY THE USE OF CBT
Since the Joint Admission and Matriculation board (JAMB) decided to make the annual UTME Examinations a Computer-based Test (CBT), coupled with the cancellation of Post-UTME in 2016, the best thing a prospective UTME Candidate can do is to prepare adequately for the exams using the right resources and tools.
One of the most important of such tools is the CBT Preparatory software. There are a handful of them out there but one really stands out. The advantage of using this software is so enormous, everyone preparing to sit for JAMB in 2017 or beyond must have one! Below are the reasons:

FAMILIARITY WITH CBT SOFTWARE
Because it is a relatively new way of conducting examinations, your familiarity with computer has little or no effect on it. Knowing how to operate a computer does not mean you can use every type of software easily (unless you are Einstein, lol); hence the need to practice. Also, most secondary schools in Nigeria do not expose their students practically to computers, not to talk of CBT softwares.
It will be a disaster to have read well for JAMB UTME, only to discover that you cannot operate the computer or interact with the JAMB Software while in the Examination Hall.

2017 JAMB CBT TUTORIALS
BRIEF HISTORY ON CBT

CBT is an acronym which stands for “Computer Based test”. It is initiated in the year 2014. Back in the years Nigeria has been trying to make a better way of taking Jamb and other exams at ease. Computer came into their mind which was said to prevent examination malpractice, activate speed rate of taking exam and also helps to equip candidate on the aspect of Computer (becoming a literate in Computer). Now CBT is one of the best way of taking exam in the Country.

SOME TIP IN TAKING CBT/JAMB EXAMS
1.   Preparation tip (which comprises both physical, Academicals and Spiritual preparation).
2.   Confidence/body composure.
3.   Concentration (both in question, answer and in reading).
4.   Timing of papers (time consciousness).

PREPARATION
In this case it needs three (3) ways of preparation which includes;

  •  Physical Preparation: In this preparation, it requires all the areas of physical ethics and equipment (i.e. being free from fatigue) which has caused aspirant/candidate(s) not to be present in the Examination nor caused them to misbehave in the hall which may cause their failure. Candidates are also expected to be physically equipped in the aspect of any examination writing materials apart from been physically fit.

  •  Academicals Preparation: This has been the area many candidates has been focusing but at the end does not know the area to cover. Candidates are expected to make sure that they understand the area to be read and question that may arise and in all “study hard”.

  •  Spiritual Preparation: 95% candidate do not have chance to acknowledge God whenever they want to write an exam, you are expected to also devote your time to God, and also read your books.

  •  Confidence/Body Composure: This area has been making 75% candidates not to do well in examination hall, although it has been made a CBT. Candidates are expected to practice has with any Computer having both touchpad and external mouse so as to be conversant with it in order to do well. In CBT and also try to understand the rules of exam before writing, don’t panic and don’t neglect yourself in anything and always be careful and ask questions.

CONCENTRATION
This means having understanding area of concentration, candidates are also expected to read whenever they want to write an Exam. Finally always acknowledge God in all things.
TIMING OF PAPER (TIME CONSCIOUSNESS)
In this case, candidates are expected to always be time conscious and always time their paper while writing an exam.
For example: Jamb have mandated that candidates with four (4) subjects are expected to take their exam 3hours. Now let’s break it down. If someone have 3hrs to write 4 subjects comprising English and other three. We can do it in this way.

  •  English Language (100 question) = 50mins
  •  Mathematics/Economics (50 questions) = 38mins
  •  Physics/Literature (50 questions) = 36mins
  •  Chemistry/Government (50 questions) = 36mins

Like this you see that we have dished out a way to maximize the examination time were candidates can finish his/her exam in less than 2hrs 40mins. Then the rest of the time can now be use for confirmation and the submitting of the exams.

CBT/JAMB WAHALA
Many candidates has been neglecting themselves that CBT/Jamb is a kind of exam that is always difficult and hard to crack. Nevertheless, I charge you that CBT/Jamb exam is one of the simplest exam one have been taking even in primary School and Computer based Test is not meant for Computer literates only but for users who can be able to understand and control the mouse and also understand the rules and norms.
JAMB TO ADAPT THE USE OF CCTV IN ALL CENTERS
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that all computer-based centres to be accredited for the registration of 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), must have Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede disclosed this at an interactive meeting held at the University Of Lagos, with the operators of CBT centres drawn from across the federation.
According to Oloyede, the move was part of the measures being taken by JAMB to avoid errors of the past and also ensure that the best is offered to Nigerians. He noted that the new process has completely phased out cybercafé operators, adding that the computer-based Centres to be accredited must have 250 desktop or laptop systems in a single room with provision for additional 25 systems as back-ups.
The board also informed the CBT operators that all the 10 fingers of candidates must be captured, and that anyone whose whole 10 fingers cannot be captured by the CBT centres should be directed to the headquarters of JAMB in Abuja, he added that this was done to avoid multiple registration by candidates.
The meeting, which was attended by thousands of computer operators from across the country, witnessed debates among participants on several issues including the suggestion for the cancellation of UTME mobile applications.
Here you can see that with all this tips and aids to information, you have all it takes to take the forthcoming UTME with no doubt of “CAN I MAKE IT?”.
